Developing a Salon Marketing Strategy That Will Grow Your Business Quickly
People ask me all the time, “When it comes to salon marketing, what are the best methods?”
You see, I have spent the last 6 years learning everything I can about marketing MY salon on the internet so that I can get new clients in my salon on autopilot every day!
And I have created this website to teach YOU everything I know!
How Does a Strong Salon Marketing Plan Benefit You?
As a salon professional, YOU have put in the hours at school, spent countless time perfecting your skills, and you love using your creative ability to help people look their best.
But let’s be honest, you could be the best hair stylist in the world, and the most friendly, caring person, in the most beautiful salon in your city. But if no one knows you are in business, none of that matters.
That is why I believe the key to a successful beauty career begins with a well thought out marketing plan.
Successfully strategic salon marketing will be the difference between building your clientele in 6 months compared to still struggling after 6 years.
In the video below, I share where I believe you should focus your salon marketing attention, in order to get a constant flow of new clients calling for appointments every single day. I will give you a hint: Its all about creating a strong marketing strategy ON THE INTERNET! Check it out!
The Advantage of Digital Marketing
Of course word of mouth is always the best form of advertising. But the next best thing is a comprehensive digital marketing plan.
Lets be honest, whenever you are looking for a service based business in your city, you go to Google. So do your prospective clients!
Beating your competition by leveraging the free tools on the internet is THE most effective way to be where your prospective clients are searching.
We have built our salon marketing plan on these principles, and it has equated to thousands of dollars in profits every month.
The three most effective ways to attract new clients on the internet is through your fully optimized website, optimized promotional salon video, and high authority salon directory profiles.
Salon Website: The Foundation of Your Salon Marketing
If you don’t already have a salon website, that is a good place to start!
But just developing a website is not enough.
What most salon professionals don’t understand is Google will not rank your website in the search results unless it is optimized properly through a process called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
And if your website is not ranked in Google search, it is basically worthless as a tool for attracting new clients.
Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the visibility of a website on organic (“natural” or un-paid) search engine result pages (SERPs), by incorporating search engine friendly elements into a website. A successful search engine optimization campaign will have, as part of the improvements, carefully select, relevant, keywords which the on-page optimization will be designed to make prominent for search engine algorithms. Search engine optimization is broken down into two basic areas: on-page, and off-page optimization. On-page optimization refers to website elements which comprise a web page, such as HTML code, textual content, and images. Off-page optimization refers, predominantly, to backlinks (links pointing to the site which is being optimized, from other relevant websites).

Want to separate yourself from all other salons in your city? Create a professional promotional video.
Promotional videos allow you to put your best foot forward in a personal way. Clients can see your stylists in action, check out the salon environment, and learn what sets your salon apart from the competition.
Videos built trust, and have an amazing conversion rate. If you finish your video with a strong call to action, it is a guaranteed asset to acquire new clients.
But again, it is not enough to just create a video, and post it on YouTube. You need to optimize the video so it also ranks in Google search, and gets seen by anyone looking for a new salon in your city.
Directory profiles usually work behind the scenes, building online credibility for your salon.
A directory profile is any website that will allow you to put your salon information on them. The most popular directory profiles would be: Yelp, YP, Google+, Facebook, Manta, and many more.
These are sites that build authority for your online reputation. They are a place where clients can post positive reviews for your salon. Potential clients will often times visit these sites when trying to decide which salon to choose.
They are also a place that validates your business information, which builds overall trust in Google’s eyes, helping your website ranking.
Typically, if you create 40-50 directory profiles for your salon on the big sites, salon specific sites, and local sites, you will be head and shoulders above your competition.
