Optimizing Your Website So It Does What It Is Supposed To Do: Convert New Clients

I have a salon, so I need a website; right? Well, ya…but WHY?

If you can understand the WHY when it comes to your website, you will be able to execute the goal of your website.

So in case you are confused, let me tell you the goal of your website: To attract and convert visitors in to clients.

Now, how is your website doing at accomplishing this goal?

Attracting Website Visitors

Are new potential clients finding your website on the web consistently every day? If not, you probably are missing a key component to your website: SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

I see it over and over again: Salons that have a beautiful website, but it doesn’t come up in search results.

When people are looking to get their hair done, they go to google, and search for a hair salon in your city. The salons that are coming up in the top of those Google search results are the salons that are getting new clients.

So how do you get in the search results? Check out my blog post on optimizing your website, and download the On-Site SEO Checklist below.

Converting Website Visitors Into Clients

Once you are getting organic traffic to your website from Google Search, it is important that your website converts the visitors into clients.

So whats the secret? In a nutshell, your website needs to look professional, with all the information they need to schedule an appointment available on the top of the page.

This means your phone number needs to be in the header. I have visited salon websites where it was not easy to find the phone number. You can have the coolest website, but if the user can’t find out how to contact you immediately, they will move on to your competitors website.

If you offer online scheduling from your website, you will want this link to be in a visible spot at the top of the home page. We use Rosy Salon Software for our online scheduling, and we convert several new clients each week who simply found us on the web, and clicked our online scheduling button on the home page.

Design Your Salon Website All By Yourself

If you are just starting out and want to design your own website, I have created a whole module in Salon Marketing Blueprint where I walk you step by step through the process of building your own WordPress website from scratch.

This is a time consuming process with quite a learning curve, but if you are willing to put in the time, you will be able to do the whole website yourself.
